About Gloria Dietz-Kiebron
In her early twenties, Gloria lived in Madrid Spain for eight years involved in Social work among Cuban refugees, and studied for some time under Pedro Hernandez, a well known Cuban artist at the time who was enroute to the U.S. She has an Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts (ceramics), a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Griffith University) and formed an Artist and Designer's Group of fellow peers after graduating.
She coordinated six successful exhibitions in Brisbane for two years, having enjoyed an internship in curating at the Brisbane City Gallery during her studies. Gloria and her husband left for the U.S. and they lived in Miami Beach, Florida, where she exhibited and then moved to San Antonio,Texas before returning to Australia.
Her artistic expression evolves out of a love of creation, and the landscape of other countries she has visited besides Spain, Guatemala and Costa Rica. Her work is eclectic, and a mixture of traditional with the semi abstract and she is at her happiest working on large canvases as an expressionist with vibrant colour and texture and extending her knowledge. Over the years she has experimented with various media including oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel, charcoal, ink. After two years as Gallery Co ordinator she is now President of Yurara Art Society and is involved in exhibitions as well as participating in them.
